What, you might ask, does an atomizer have to do with cocktails? Well, I use it for Absinthe. I don't use it when I'm drinking Absinthe as Absinthe. I use it when I'm coating a glass for a Sazerac cocktail. Some cocktails require you to pour about a teaspoon of a liquor into the glass, roll it around the glass until the inside of the glass is coated, and then dump out the excess. This is time consuming, and it's hard not to spill any... For a Sazerac, rather than rolling the glass and dumping (or drinking) the excess Absinthe, I just mist some Absinthe into the glass. I even mist a little on top of the cocktail before adding the lemon twist. Delicious! And smells great, too.
When I ordered it, I was hoping that liquor would be close enough in density to vinegar that I wouldn't have a problem, and it has worked well for me. I haven't tested it on oil, and have no intention of ever doing so.
