The set comes gift-boxed for a pretty presentation; not only would a collector of the Spode Christmas Tree pattern be thrilled to receive these plates, but so would anyone who still thrills to the festive trappings of Christmas. Made of high-quality earthenware, these plates are dishwasher- and microwave-safe. To extend the life of the plates, however, it is best to avoid rapid temperature changes, such as reheating a plate in the microwave that's been moved directly from the refrigerator. Also, a low-temperature cycle and liquid dishwasher detergent will help avoid abrasion and temperature stress. Each plate measure 10 inches in diameter. --Garland Withers
