Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Spice Stack Rack - (White)

Customer Review: Love it - but saving space? Vertically Maybe
Summary: 5 Stars

First - I had all my spices one one shelf that took up a lot of width but nothing in height. This shelving unit takes the same width exactly - but better organizes them so I can FIND them! Now I have it in a cupboard over the stove that was formerly too high for me to use normally. The nice pull out drawers make it easier for me to grab bottles and use that cabinet. so I saved space by using one cabinet I couldn't before - but the width of all that framework is about the same. Just so you know!
It's durable, all put together. A sheet of labels is included - looks great, works great, LOVE IT!

However I have older cabinets that are narrow - so buying the wide one was a challenge to get into the shelves - I had to remove the magnetic close portion of the cabinet mount - and thankfully the cabinets are level or the door wouldn't stay closed. I should've checked the measurements better prior to purchase - simply because it is an awkward thing to put into place if it fits tightly.

Customer Review: Just like the picture, LOVE it!
Summary: 5 Stars

My spice cabinet was a disaster, never knowing where the things were that I used regularly and always being frustrated. I don't cook a lot and don't have a ton of spices, but WOW, what a difference in how I feel when I open that cabinet! It looks clean and organized and I know where my most used items are! Totally worth the $35. Two things to mention, there is a small amount of "dead space" on the one side of the spice rack behind the cabinet door frame which is necessary to be able to slide the drawer out and pull down as pictured. Another note is that some of the spices come in taller bottles (Chef Paul Prudhomme's for example) or wider or odd shaped containers, these do not fit, but the normal sized ones do as well as the small ones pictured on the left-and you can stack two of the smaller ones to save space-like the nutmeg and ginger that are rarely used (at least in my kitchen).

Love the look and feel of being organized, and like I said, totally worth the $35!

Customer Review: Best purchase I've made in years!
Summary: 5 Stars

I debated for some time before ordering this because I thought the $30 +$10 for shipping was too much- let me tell you, it is worth every penny! My cabinet is organized and it is so easy to find what I want. Before I always had to take every spice out to find the one I wanted. It also holds more than other racks and takes up less space. It doesn't hold spices that are larger than 5 1/2" tall and 2" in diameter, but not many spices come in that large of a bottle. Mine came in perfect condition and I haven't had a problem with it breaking. It isn't made out of the strongest material out there, but it isn't cheap either. I was pleased with the quality when I received it. It doesn't tip out of my cabinet when the shelf is pulled out and seems to stay in place really well. You cannot be rough with it, because then it would probably break, but for normal daily use by an adult, it is perfect. I would buy another one in a heartbeat! This is the best purchase I have made in years!

Customer Review: Love this product...
Summary: 5 Stars

This product satisfies both my husband and I--which is a difficult task in itself. My husband (the Food Network geek) is obsessive about keeping our spices in a cool, dark place. I am tired of digging them out of a box we keep in the cupboard and looking at them one by one to find the one I want. He wouldn't agree to different types of spice racks that hang on the wall or sit on the counter. The ones with tins (approved by his beloved Alton Brown) are expensive and time consuming considering that you have to empty the spice from one container to another. With this product, you get to keep your spices in their original containers and you can look at 8 at a time. I pull three drawers to find something I normally have to pull 12 jars to find. I read reviews that you can pull it down on yourself rather easily. If you only pull one shelf out at a time, that doesn't really become an issue. If you place it on a lower shelf in your pantry, it helps as well.

Customer Review: Wish it was made of metal; organizes wonderfully.
Summary: 3 Stars

PROS?

1. Wonderful for finding spices with ease.

2. Fits in my cupboard.

CONS?

1. This really should be made of metal, as spices in heavy glass containers (Penzey's) really give it a workout and you can see the unit buckle--I will never let some of the drawers just hang there because they are so heavy and I'm afraid it will break sooner rather than later.

2. A bit expensive for what it is. A perfect price point about be maybe $5-7 cheaper. If it was made of metal, I'd be more comfortable with this price.

3. Takes up more space than the lazy susan I was using before.

4. Apparently I have no "large" spice containers (that are supposed to go in the back section of each level) so that's a lot of wasted space for me. (I have small containers or extra-large-Costco-sized containers.)
