I agree with the other reviewers who say their claims of cost savings are highly exaggerated. It used to be *somewhat* better, but they did away with the larger Co2 bottles and now you are stuck with tiny ones that they charge the same for as they did the big ones.
The only way to make these cost effective at all is to find someone to modify the system so you can use your own Co2 tank. There are people who sell adapters to do this on eBay, but be very wary. Even if they have good ratings on eBay, remember that you rate someone there right after the transaction happens, not after you've had a chance to use the product for a while. Do an internet search on their business and see what others have to say about them prior to making the purchase. There is one guy that is really shady, but you don't find out until after he has your money.
It's kind of fun being able to mix your own sodas though. We buy Torani syrups and play with blending drinks, or adding different flavors to the Soda Club flavors. We've found we like some of the Soda Club flavors and aren't so fond of others. Some are too strong and have to be either "watered down" with the lemon lime flavor or just use less than they say. Just play with it, it's fun!
