puchased skybox at sears i month ago. would not cool below 40 degrees. called maytag and they came out 5 days later, fan was installed backwoods. now after 48 hours at max, temperature in top compartment only 38 degrees (this is where cold air comes in) bottom compartment will not go below 44 degrees. am returning to sears for full refund. p.s. there is a rumor this model is discontued and a new model is coming in about 2 months, maytag will not give me any info. on new model. also some stores are discounting it now $399.00 plus $100.00 gift card. Bernies, no. allleboro, MA. this is another indication that it indeed may be discontued. anybody else hear about a new model?Customer Review: Fixed the cooling problem!

I love my Skybox. Everyone that sees it is absoutly amazed, it is so cool to have your own vending machine. Originaly it did not get very cold and had the same problem as everyone else. I had the knob turned to max and it was cooling to about 40*. Then I called my local maytag service place, they came out,replaced the thermostat and Wow! What a difference. It now maintains at about 35* Ice Cold! The guy said most likely the diaphrapms in the thermostats where misadjusted during the manufacturing process. Anyway, after they replaced the thermostat it is like having a actual vending machine! Way to go Maytag! I do not understand at all, why everyone is having problems.... I have had my Skybox since April and I haven't had a problem yet. At the beginning the temperature was "ok". but now the temperature is ice cold, about 35* after having the thermostat replaced by maytag. I have had no problems at all with it jamming. The people that say it is jamming must be loading it incorrectly or have something blocking the door sensor. If it doesn't work right, why not calling maytag before posting a 1 star review. I would also check out skyboxcards.com they have just about every beverage card you would ever want for it. Give the Skybox another chance. I love it. :)Customer Review: Maytag Skybox Jam Sensor

I purchased my skybox recently, second hand, and I absolutely love it. The drinks (beer) get icy cold and it dispenses great. I made some custom beer brand cards for the buttons, and removed the catch net, so I get an authentic ka-thunk when it vends a can. The one problem is that it shows a jam after every can dispenses. I have to open the door to reset it. I tried to adjust the jam sensor on the door, to no avail. First off, I think the entire jam sensor is useless...if you hit a button and nothing comes out, guess what, it is jammed, I don't need a "dummy light" Is there anyway to completely eliminate this sensor...any help is much appreciated!!Customer Review: Skybox Vendor

This product is really neat. My dad got one for himself last year and while the stand is a really really big hassel to assemble the product overall works great. I (in response to the gentleman complaining about how the product does not cool his beverages) have had no problems with this whatsoever. We keep ours in the basement and the hum and blue glow are a little eerie to those who have never seen the vending machine before when they first see and hear them in the darkness of our rec area . But all in all this is a wonderful product and I would recommend it for anyone looking to complete a home bar area or just to have as a novelty item.
