So I admit I bought this after looking at other kits and going that's all I get for $10-15? I'm not saying that with this one! The thread selection is great, it's sewing thread with good color selection and the scissors actually feel really sturdy. There is lots of room for expansion in the drawers, there was plenty of room to absorb my odds and ends from previous sewing kits. Needle selection is good and the odds and ends (pins, pin cushion, thimble, seam ripper, etc) all tuck away nicely. My only complaint is that the box itself is a bit flimsey when it's open and spread out. I don't think it's a good package for a smaller child learning how to sew that isn't patient and gentle with the kit but it's got more than enough if you are going to be fixing buttons, doing some simple by hand sewing and garmet modification as an adult or college student.

This revolutionary sewing storage system features a hard plastic outer shell making the contents safe for storage and travel. This 10 by 8-1/2 by 6-inch storage also features a molded plastic handle the folds for easy storage; two outer pockets for holding patterns or small books; inside this case features forty spokes for storing forty large spools of thread; eight outer small compartments for storing small essentials and a larger compartment for scissor and other larger items with a built-in pin cushion. This storage system contains twenty large spools of bright and dark threads, twenty medium spools of pastel and bright threads, seventy-five 1-1/2-inch pearl head pins, seam ripper, 60-inch vinyl measuring tape, three metal thimbles, 8-1/2-inch bent scissors, three needle threaders, ten plastic bobbins, a tomato/strawberry pin cushion, and a needle compact with thirty hand needles.
