I have had my chrome version for 10 years now and just came across a vintage one in copper. They have been making these in England now for over 100 years. They do not drip when you pour. The whistle is as loud as any with the special ball in the spout to build up steam faster for the whistle. The whistle is in the lid so you do not need to remove the spout cover to pour the water. Both chrome finish and copper finish are built from solid copper. I like the smooth bottom even though I use a gas stove with huge capacity open burners. They have a nice tin lining that holds up well over the years. The design is timeless. The chrome is easy to clean, with a simple wipe down to remove water spots. The copper one is well, copper. Clean it for a shinny look, (using any of a dozen copper cleaning methods) or just let it go for a more rustic look. Even my copper vintage one that is almost black with patina looks as good as my 10-year-old one when you look at the tin lining on the inside. Buy one for life, then figure out who to leave it to in your will.
