Seriously, I felt silly buying this, like why make a tiny trashcan on your counter when there is a big trashcan on the floor four feet away? But... I put the thin 'produce' plastic bags in this and toss all my veggie cuttings and eggshells and stuff in here and then toss the bag when it gets full or after a few days. It keeps my minimal counter space cleaner while I'm working in there for sure. Perhaps it's not a necessity in life, ok, but I actually like it pretty well.
