Customer Review: Silpats Are Not Just For Baking In The Oven

I love my Silpats for my 1/2-sheet baking pans. Their initial investment amount does not take long to recoup when not having to buy parchment, and I don't have to throw parchment away, so it makes it this product more ecological and Earth-friendly.
I also bought the large Silpat for working dough on my counter (takes a lot less flour when rolling out). I also use it for rolling out and cutting noodles/pasta and rolled cookies. Be VERY careful when cutting out on the Silpat. I use a non-serated case knife to minimize any cuts to my Silpat. The instructions will tell you not to cut on it, so be careful when cutting and do not use this Silpat in the oven once you have used it this way. Also, I use the back side of the Silpat if I am going to use a knife on it so that the front is still smooth for rolling my pastry dough on.
It is so nice not to have to scrape up dough bits and clean up flour from my counters.
