Customer Review: Can't live without it!

I bought this online the day after I received a Kitchenaid stand mixer for my bridal shower. I am an avid cake decorator and I make lots of cakes for family and friends. I use it ALL THE TIME, almost exclusively. I have never used the one that came with my mixer. Two complaints I read about here were too much batter staying on the beater, I use a small rubber spatula to quickly sweep out the batter between blades, it takes 10 seconds, the other was that the blades take longer to clean, which I make easy by popping my bowl off the stand, putting it in the sink after use, then I drop the beater in and run hot water into the bowl, with a squirt of detergent. By the time I get around to washing it I just rinse off all the softened batter and hand wash it with some soap. Ta-da!
The only issue I had was that with my washing method I once dropped the beater into a mixer bowl filled with hot water and blue frosting and I had to run over to the kiddie party and drop off the cake before I could come home and clean up. So the white plastic absorbed some of the food coloring. I fixed that by laying it in some bleach and water for a few hours and then running it through the dishwasher.
I have my mixer next to the stove, plugged in and ready to go, so I just drop boiled potatoes in with some butter, milk, salt and nutmeg, and voila! mashed potatoes...
I HIGHLY recommend this. Read the instructions and be sure to adjust the screw inside the tilting arm to lift or lower the attachment to fit just right.
