Customer Review: Poorly designed controls!

I'm amazed this got such high ratings! I guess that's what convinced me to buy it in the first place, but I kind of regret that decision now. Often when only one person complains they either have some crackpot reason or they were just the one unlucky customer out of thousands who got a dud. Well, I don't think either of those descriptions apply in my case, but I do suggest to anyone considering buying this oven that you do more comparison shopping first.
What mainly bothers me is the lame design of the touch-pad controls. They are all too close to each other with no visual or tactile division between them. Two of the most significant buttons, "Stop" and "Start", are right on top of the "Melt butter" and "Warm Syrup" buttons so you can easily hit the wrong button by mistake. And anything beyond the simplest operation is so non-intuitive you have to look it up in the manual even after you've owned the oven for years.
PS: The numerical display lights up, but the buttons you have to press do not... and the night light is useless... you can't find it in the dark and even if you could, it doesn't light up the controls enough to let you see them clearly. If it's all dark in the kitchen, forget the night light, you'll have to just turn on some lights so you can see what you're doing.
PPS: Beware the sharp edges on the front corners. If you get too close they could hurt your fingers when you're cleaning your countertop.
To sum up, this oven does heat things up well enough, but there are better designed microwaves out there... my advice is just take a little time to shop around before you decide.
