We needed a small stainless steel microwave to fit in the new built-in shelf we had installed with our new cabinets, so our choices were narrowed, but this one fit. It has a nice appearance and works great so far. We use it mostly to heat up leftovers or make popcorn. One thing---we wiped the door "glass" on the outside with a dish towel once. It left scratch marks. The door is not actually glass, it's some kind of plastic. So, be careful when cleaning it. Use a very soft cloth and don't rub too aggressively.Customer Review: Not made to last

My previous Panasonic MW lasted 20 years, and while I realize that almost all products produced nowadays aren't made to last, the Sharp MW didn't even last one year. The confusing keypad and shortcuts required referring to the manual ALL the time. It makes a pretty loud hum when it is running -- but you'll only have to put up with that for 6-8 months before the cheap piece of junk dies. I truly believe that it is just really hit-or-miss with Sharp products, and no way no how am I going to take that chance again.Customer Review: The microwave which would not open

I did a lot of research on this product and that is why I was twice as angry when I couldn't even open the door on this product. It was a Mother's day gift and I presented it to my mother. "Well, see what the manual says about this," says my mother. Sure, Mom, once I can get the door open, I can then get the manual, and then, I'll read the manual as to how to get the door open. Amazon was good about refunding my purchase price plus the shipping(back). I will do more research and find another microwave.Customer Review: Very good

St. Steel for this price, that great. So far after a month it's fine.
This has hard to find 3 stage cooking! The Sears people don't know this!!!
3 settings at once > example, hi for 2min, med. (5) for 1 min. then low (1)
for 1 min. or any combination and all 3 settings will cook one after the other all by itself!
This is the main reason I bought this, this is a fabulous feature!
The inst. for basic use are OK, but the inst. for the fancy settings are
incomplete!

This microwave was great...for the 4 years that it worked, and that is just a household with just 2 people and less than average use. The Sharp customer service rep I talked to today said it's typical for this model to stop heating in that amount of time. The part could still be under warrantee but all service centers are over an hour away...and I don't live in a rural area. Do NOT buy this microwave unless you like the idea of throwing it in a landfill in 3-4 years and buying another one.
