I wanted a nice-looking basic, easy to operate microwave and this fills the bill. Price was unbeatable. It is powerful, easy to operate, and has some nice features like the "Popcorn" button, and the "Minute Plus". It looks good too, altho it is not really small or compact. The only downside is the rather tinny sound to the door when you shut it, but everything else is great and I am very happy with this product. I've had SHARP microwaves before and they have always performed extremely well. Highly recommend if you want a basic microwave that looks nice.Customer Review: very disappointed

We bought this microwave based on having had good luck with Sharp products and its appearance and its price. The microwave was a disappointment from the start. The motor sounds like it's about to die. We are unable to get microwave popcorn popped with any accuracy. It is either burnt or there are dozens of unpopped colonels in the bag. I should have returned it right away, and I don't know why I didn't, but it's too late now. It is inconsistent in its heating of other food as well. No problems with Sharp before, so maybe just a lemon.Customer Review: Great, Efficient and Compact!

I bought this microwave to replace the old one that I had for thirteen years. It was a GREAT buy!! It's medium sized, perfect to be placed over the counter. I don't cook in it, I mainly use it to warm up liquids, like milk and coffee. It's great to warm up food as well. It's very easy to use, and it has a classy appearance. My kids have learned to operate it as well. The stainless steel on the outside looks great and it's easy to clean. There's a light that lights up when opened and when operated. this is a great appliance, especially considering the great deal I got from Amazon.com. The attractiveness of the exterior would fit well into any kitchen decor, but the ease of operation and the many, many features (so many that it will be a while before I am able to use them all) make this the best microwave I have ever purchased. My food is cooked in even less time and more thoroughly than with previous microwave ovens I've owned previously. Overall, this is a simple and low-maintenence oven, AND a really great value.Customer Review: Shoddy Product

Like many other reviewers, the Sharp microwave I used to have lasted 18+ years. Then I got this to replace it and after 18 months, part of the door latch mechanism broke. I heard something snapped and fell within the door. So, it won't close tightly and of course the machine won't start if the door is not closed properly. Naturally, it's out of warranty. The initial estimate is $60 + tax if it's only the door latches that need to be replaced. Who knows what else the repair shop finds. Might as well as a new one.
