Day one that I received this microwave, the LCD worked fine, then stopped. I thought it may be a fluke and may correct itself. The next few times, I had the same problem. It IS difficult to cook or warm up food/drinks without the LCD working. I thought, well, that figures - amazon. I vowed ages ago: amazon.com - never again. It's more hassle and going to cost more to ship and fix than what I paid for this. What a piece of crap. At least it might last 1 year according to other reviews, but I'm still kicking myself for not reading the reviews before buying.

I just received this product and it is being returned today. It looks great on the outside but it is cheaply made and makes a very loud noise when operable. I should have read these reviews more carefully before placing the order. I am a huge Amazon customer and must admit this was my only disappoinment. I will begin my search again to find the desired stainless microwave immediately. Any suggestions?? THIS IS IDEAL FOR AN OFFICE OR DORM, BUT NOT LARGE ENOUGH FOR A HOME W/ A FAMILY...EXCELLENT PRICE AND GOOD QUALITY....EASY TO OPERATE! NOT MANY OPTIONS COMPARED TO A KITCHEN SIZE, MORE EXPENSIVE MODEL. THE LED READOUT IS SMALL AND A LITTLE DIFFICULT TO READ SOMETIMES. IF YOU SHOP AROUND YOU MAY FIND A LESS EXPENSIVE COMPACT MICROWAVE, BUT I DID NOT HAVE THE TIME WHEN I PURCHASED THIS ONE. ALL SAID, I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS ONE FOR SOMEONE WHO NEEDS A COMPACT MODEL.
ONE OTHER MENTION...IT DOES NOT HAVE MUCH STAINLESS STEEL, MOSTLY PLASTIC AND OTHER METAL.

Our 15 year old Sharp microwave finally wore out, so we replaced it with another Sharp. We thought it was a sensible decision, but we were wrong. We kept the box for about a month before taking it to the recycling center and the very next day our 'new' Sharp malfunctioned. The top half of the numeral display went completely blank. The microwave still heats as usual you just have to set it without the aid of the display. Sharp microwaves use to be made in the USA, this one was made in Thailand.
Sharp will not be our first choice next time.

I wanted a stainless microwave to go on top of a stainless mini-fridge that goes in the master bedroom. It works great for popcorn and reheating small plates of food, which is exactly what I wanted it for. On top of that, it looks good. But if you want a completely stainless steel microwave, keep in mind that only the top and bottom part of the door of this one is stainless. The rest of the cabinet is a light gray colored metal. I knew this prior to purchasing it, but I can see how the product description can be misleading to some.
