Customer Review: Noise problems, decal problems
Summary: 1 Stars

The microwave developed a really annoying noise after about 2 weeks of ownership. We received it as a gift so I dont want to look ungrateful but I think people should know. Also, the emblem on the front keeps peeling off. We finally threw it out but we are still stuck with stick glue. We sprayed with alachol and then with gumremove. After all of this effort, we got the door cleaned up enough to where we had just four small sized globs of this glue and basically what was originally there. Then a friend decided to bring over a brand name product meant for cleaning glue, it crystalized the adhesive onto the door and cracked the plastic. Now we're trying to find a new door for the microwave. The parts store does not have them. So buyer beware. We thought the price for the microwave given the brand and size of it was a little high, but we wanted a small microwave that somewhat matched our kitchen appliances so we bought this. The microwave itself works fine , however the adhesive that was used on the front door is really aweful. At first we tried just rubbing it off with our fingers, then we tried a dry cloth, we tried soap and hot water, window cleaner, amonia, vinegar. Didn't work.

Customer Review: Pretty but very basic
Summary: 3 Stars

I was forced to replace my old 800 watt microwave which I owned for about six years. I was stunned that there were very few small microwaves for sale in the stores (I live in the Chicagoland area - we have just about every store imaginable). I had done my initial research online and settled on a Sharp, since they all had favorable reviews.

I really chose this one for its looks, and I am sorry I did. I didn't really think about the features my old microwave had that I had grown dependent on - the "quick on" feature that I could just press "quick" then "5" to cook for 5 minutes, and even the green glowing LED time-of-day light. My advice - if you are replacing an old unit, really think about the features that you use the most, and look for those in your replacement.

This unit is pretty, but subject to fingerprinting (stainless steel - duh). It is very lightweight - it almost feels like a can that can dent. I hate the LED display - I can't see it when the sun is bright in my kitchen. It is a little slower to cook than my last 800 watt machine. For a basic machine it is OK, but for everyday kitchen use, keep looking.

Customer Review: POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Summary: 1 Stars

Just like another reviewer, I had a difficult time removing the sticker on the front door of the microwave. By the time I had very carefully rubbed off the adhesive, there were 4 prominent scratch/scuff marks on my new microwave. Sharp customer service was very uncooperative and unresponsive in helping me resolve the issue of a new microwave with blemishes because of the adhesive they used on a sticker which didn't need to be there in the first place. They directed me to the nearest authorized service center where they said I would have to pick up the tab if I wanted a new door. I chose this microwave for 2 reasons, it's small size fit in my cabinet space and it looked clean and modern. Well now it looks cheap and ugly. Let's face it, a microwave is a microwave, it heats up your leftovers, boils water, and pops your popcorn. What you're left with is an appliance that fits your style or decor and a company that will back up their product should problems arise. In my opinion, Sharp is not a company that backs up their products or cares about its customers--I will NEVER buy another Sharp product again!

Customer Review: Fine if you don't need the "0" key...
Summary: 4 Stars

Addendum to this review. After a little over a year of use, the "0" key on the keypad has become faulty. It still works, but you have to press it a few times and sometimes you get multiple zeroes. Of all the keys to go bad, this has to be the worst one! Couldn't it be the "7" key? Anyway, I was not able to change my number of stars, but I would not buy this again, and I would rate it two stars.

There is not much to say about this unit. It works, has not broken down, is sized adequately to fit in the corner of our remodeled kitchen. The steel finish is attractive and goes with most color schemes. It is solidly built. We resisted getting a microwave as long as anyone I know, but there is a lot of convenience in it. Whatever your cooking habits, it is hard to imagine that it wouldn't be useful at least for reheating. I didn't now how to rate this unit because we have never had another one to compare it to, and there is not much special about any microwave. I am giving it four stars just because it deserves more than three.

Customer Review: Bad Adhesive on Front Door Decal
Summary: 2 Stars

We thought the price for the microwave given the brand and size of it was a little high, but we wanted a small microwave that somewhat matched our kitchen appliances so we bought this. The microwave itself works fine (it's acceptable), however the adhesive that was used on the front door is bad, very bad. At first we tried just rubbing it off with our fingers, then we tried a dry cloth, we tried soap and hot water, window cleaner, amonia, vinegar. Didn't work. Even tried wallpaper adhesive remover, didn't work. The stuff just smeared all around the door. After all of this effort, we got the door cleaned up enough to where we had just four nickle sized globs of this glue and basically what was originally there. Then a friend decided to bring over a brand name product meant for cleaning glue, it crystalized the adhesive onto the door and cracked the plastic. Now we're trying to find a new door for the microwave. The parts store does not have them. So buyer beware.
