If the orange (the bigger and thicker) ones were packed separately I'd give the product a higher rating. I have had some for over a year and use the orange one constantly. I have not actually weighed them before and after a spill, but they are more absorbent than anything else I've ever used in this way--starting out dry. Many sponges have to be "primed", these do not. The first time I washed them I was a bit shocked at the change in their appearance and was immediately doubtful that they would last long. I dried them with knits (t-shirts, socks, mens' briefs, etc., on my dryer's "knit/gentle cycle") and they shrank a little and looked really limp and shabby. I started to keep them in the kitchen and now I use them constantly for everything and anything and I'm very happy with them. None have torn or look any different from how they did after the first washing/drying (except for stains). The little blue ones that are packaged with them are not very useful. I want more with the capacity of the orange ones and will be ordering some of the original ones from Germany and hope their color is different enough that I can have a set for "clean clean-ups" (water on a counter, etc.) and a set for "dirty clean-ups" (things that happen on the floor or in the carpet including "gifts" from pets).
