A friend gave us a set of acrylic re-usable straws, I had not known such a thing existed prior to getting them. We use straws every day, so we loved them. Eventually they began bowing from washing in the dishwasher.
I looked everywhere for a new set, when it finally dawned on me to try amazon.
These straws are great. They are much sturdier than my previous set, they stand up well to dishwashing. They are fun colors, and the fact that there are multiple colors comes in handy if you're having a picnic or something and want to keep track of your drink.
The straws pay for themselves if you are an everyday throw-away straw user. And with no more straws to throw away, they are environmentally friendly too.

What a find. My mom who is recovering from a stoke & is 95 lives with me. As her caretaker, I am always looking for products that make my life easier and keep mom from picking up infections. I was buying a box of straws a month and sending half of them over to the senior day care center that she goes to 3 mornings a week. These go in the dishwasher and she has a fresh straw for her beverages. My goal is to keep her drinking at least 3 glasses of water daily. These straws make it fun. Plus, I love them for my ice-tea. I rave about them whenever we have company and they get a fresh straw. No downside here.Customer Review: Fatal Flaw

These straws are ALMOST perfect. I love them from a functional standpoint - they hold up well, wash up beautifully (w/o falling through the holes in my dishwasher's utensil basket), and end the money and trash out w/ disposable straws.
BUT . . . they contain BPA (I contacted Zak, the manufacturer, and they confirmed it). It's just not worth risking my children's health over. I'll consider stainless steel, but I'm not sure they'll like the feel/cold of those.

I love these straws they last forever, and they are fun. It was hard to find a company that still made them. I purchased some 2 years ago at Walmart, and I know Starbukcks used to sell them, but Zaks were the only ones I found. I purchased these for my dad, I still have mine from Walmart. They are about 1.00 a straw which is pricey, but I love them. Hopefully more companies start making them again.Customer Review: really fantastic straws!

We love these at my house--my daughter is a strawaholic, and even I who opposed straw use have started using them. We thoroughly enjoy sipping (or gulping) smoothies from these nice wide straws. It is nice to have two of each color for big glasses or multiple kids! They are easy to clean too, dishwasher or hand wash, and just brush with a pipe cleaner when smoothie's get stuck inside. 5 outa 5!
