Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Santa Fe Quesadilla MakerCustomer Review: ONLY FOR TORTILLAS 12" DIAMETER !! Summary: 3 Stars
I ordered this quesadilla maker for 5 stars reviews!
but i never see the item description only 12" tortillas can be use. 12" this size is only in FLOUR TORTILLAS easy to buy everywhere but......the best taste is using CORN TORTILLA to get a real quesadilla Mexicana!
THE CORN TORTILLA comes in small size and you can buy in Hispanic or Mexican Markets.
IF YOU BUY THIS QUESADILLA MAKER YOU HAVE TO BUY ALSO 1 BAG OF MASECA (MEXICAN FLOUR), TO MAKE 12 INCHES CORN TORTILLAS AND IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW THEN BUY TORTILLA MAKER!
i use old fashion way to make quesadillas without artefacts like this!
3 stars for beautiful design.
This quesadilla maker i don't like, if you use flour tortilla is for you!
Customer Review: Skip this product! Summary: 1 Stars
Tomorrow I'm returning the quesadilla maker I received as a gift. The shells come out too hard and the design of the appliance doesn't permit using enough filling. If one actually used the included recipes you'd need to wear protective googles for the splatter when you jumped on the lid attempting to close it. The hinge should allow more space between the top and bottom or else the pockets should be deeper. The basic idea is great but the end product needs an upgrade. Such a shame - I so looked forward to making my favorite food at home! p.s. Suspiciously, I've noticed the positive reviews here have showed up word-for-word on other rating sites. I was searching online hoping to discover a secret to using this appliance.
Customer Review: worthwhile purchase Summary: 4 Stars
I recently purchased this quesadilla maker and have been pleased with the results so far. It heats up quickly, and with a non-stick surface is easy to clean. There are a few downsides: the thicker you make the quesadilla (or the more ingredients you add) the machine does not perfom well. You'll have to put some pressure on the lid to get it to flatten out. We made quesadillas with cheese, sliced olives and sliced jalapenos and it required pressure to get it to cook. Making the quesadillas is messy, and after every quesadilla, the machine has to be cleaned. It does wipe up easily, but it still takes some time to clean up. For the price of this machine, all the negatives still make it a worthwhile purchase.
Customer Review: Best invention since sliced bread? Summary: 5 Stars
I received this a few years ago as a Christmas gift from the in-laws. I must admit, I wondered how I would make room in my kitchen for something that would be a seldom-used appliance. Well, a few years later, this is a staple for my family. Each member can choose whatever they want for toppings. We make cheese, chicken and cheese, chicken and cheese and red onion and jalapeno's topped with sour cream and salsa...you name it. It's a great eat-as-the-kids-get-home-from-sports meal and I wouldn't live without one! In fact, when I got divorced & my husband received custody of the appliance...I had to get another one. I'll be purchasing another one for my son that just moved out...great Christmas present!
Customer Review: Convenient but not w/o problems Summary: 3 Stars
I got the quesadilla maker from another site on sale for $10, so I really can't complain too much about it. But I'll share my first experience. Cons: the standard flour tortillas seem to be too big for the machine, too much filling causes food to squoosh out onto the edges and counter, nonstick parts are not removeable so best way to clean is wipe off with paper towel. Pros: quesadillas cook fast without worry, saves cutting time (also eliminates brain work on even cuts), simple concept, easy way to make quick quesadillas. It doesn't get used much in my house, because I like more filling in my quesadillas. But if you have kids or throwing a large party, it's a good way to whip up some fast bites.
