Customer Review: Works Great!

I bought one of these at a national chain for about $30 almost 3 years back. It lasted fine and probably would have lasted a hundred years if I hadn't run over it with the car TWICE. That's right, two times. The first time it mashed flat but I was able to bend everything back into shape. The second time though the handle splintered near a rivet and when trying to bend the forks back the thing snapped. I'd say that's one tough pooper scooper!
As far as how it works, it works GREAT! It took some getting used to when I first got it as it appeared to operate contrary to how you wanted it to. In other words when I'd go to squeeze it shut it opened, and vice-versa. But once I got used to it, it worked like a charm! With some practice, I now can even pick up poops with one hand if I need to (although that can be tricky at first also). The forks are wide enough to be functional, but not too wide where they won't easily go through long grass. They are also very strong metal with a rib in the middle of each fork to help reinforce the design. I looked at a lot of these in stores before buying my first one and this was by far the strongest and best designed model. All wood and metal. NO PLASTIC HERE! Little tricky to pick up the poops that roll into the pavement, but for getting them out of the grass this works great.
