I bought these originally to use as serving bowls for dinner parties. The outside design and rough surface isn't as stunning as it looks in the picture, and the interior has a very smooth and pretty glazed pattern. Nevertheless, it's a nice bowl to look at. Here's the fun part: I end up using them as everyday mixing bowls. They stand up just fine to the electric mixer, and they don't react or flavor things like aluminum bowls. Cleanup is easy thanks to the slick glazed interior, and you don't have to be gentle with them at all. Nesting them is a bit tricky due to the weight of each bowl and the very narrow clearance, but they will store stacked just fine. Not a bad value for the price.
