Overall this is a fine scale. One "convenient" feature is an auto zero function. If the scale has been tared and the tare weight removed, rather than displaying a negative weight, the scale automatically re-zeros. This may be handy most of the time, but sometimes it's a pain. With my old scale, I could tare a partially filled bowl, remove the bowl from the scale, add more goodies, and place it back on the scale to determine the weight of the additional material. That doesn't work with this scale--it rezeros when a tared weight is removed.Customer Review: Salter 2001 microtronic... a good buy

This is an easy-to-use, esthetically pleasant little scale at a nice price. It does grams or ounces, zeroes out every time you push the "On/Zero" button (so you can keep adding ingredients to your mixing bowl and weigh as you go). The display is easy to read. My only complaint is that occasionally, the numbers will fluctuate up and down. I use it every day and this happens perhaps once every couple of weeks. Just take the weight off and let it reset, and it's fine. It turns itself off after a short period of inactivity.Customer Review: Everything as advertised

I'm glad I found this product. It is everything that is advertised. My wife is on a strict diet meaning that we have to measure and weigh everythign that goes into her food. Some are in ounces, some in millagrams. This scale does both and it has been a godsend.
the ONLY suggestion I could make to have it be even better is to make the actual platter for the scale washable. I'm afraid to hand wash it because I'm not certain that it will hold up to being imersed in water.
I recommend this scale.

i read all the reviews for all the kitchen scales here on amazon, and ultimately bought this one. am i ever glad. it is as lightweight as i someday hope to be, simple to use, convenient to store (i, too, hang it on the wall next to my food prep area) and, in two words, most elegant. after a little practice, you can begin to estimate the weight of things you regularly consume; for those new or less-often-eaten foods, it's right at hand. this is the scale to get if you're in the market for one.Customer Review: Piece of Junk

I bought this scale 2 months ago and it started to act strange after a few weeks. The numbers jump all around and it won't zero. I replaced the batteries and now it just errors out.
I wish I bought it at Target so I could go and exchange it but now I have to figure out how to get warranty service for something I need every day.
I had another scale for 5 years prior to this and it broke after my kids spilled water on it. I wish I would have kept that one!
