Customer Review: A real lifesaver!

I purchased this scale because my 10 year old was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. We need to count carbs to figure out how much insulin to give her. This scale is perfect for weighing food in many modes (g,oz,etc.) and has tons of food items programmed in to it. I did some spot checking with food labels before I felt confident that this scale was accurate and it is. Once you input the food, the whole list of nutritional information pops up! While I am mostly concerned with the carb count, it also displays calories, fat, sugar, fiber, and a lot more. My 10 year old easily figured out how to tare weight, input her food item, and look to see how many carbs are in her food. The only downside to this scale is that the display is not backlit so seeing the display can be tricky. If you tilt the display a little farther back it is easier to see. That said, the convenience and accuracy of the scale far outweighs the display limitation. I would not want to be managing her food without this scale. I also purchased the travel scale, which folds nicely and fits into her diabetes tote bag for when we are away from home. I highly recommend that one too, but if you are only planning to buy one, you will like this display better. This scale would also be great to travel with as the display folds down and the scale resembles a laptop. It is light enough that you can take it with you.
