This is not at all what I thought when I first read the item description, or else I was in too much of a hurry to read it. It barely measures four ounces, I thought it measured much more. This might be good if you're using it for travel, but I can't imagine that you'd even find it helpful when traveling.

The new ultra fine electronic dietary kitchen scale, model 1250 is ideal for diabetic or weight management needs. This model weighs extra precise .005 ounce / 0.1 gram increments up to 8 ounce. The compact design is small enough to fit in your pocket or briefcase and the weighing tray inverts for use as travel cover. All surfaces are resistant to staining or flavor carry-over. It has a 10 year guarantee and comes with a long life lithium battery.Literally small enough to slip into a shirt pocket, this diet scale from Salter travels anywhere. Extremely precise, the scale measures items weighing up to 8 ounces (250 g) in 0.005-ounce (0.1-g) increments, making it ideal for special dietary and/or medical needs.
Made of durable blue and gray plastic that wipes clean, the scale features a cover that lifts off at the press of a button and turns upside down to act as a 3-by-3-inch weighing tray. Raised edges keep powdery or fine-grained items contained. After the tray is positioned in place, simply push the on button. Add and weigh food as needed, resetting to zero by pushing the on button again after each ingredient if desired. Pushing the button marked ?g? at any time will switch the mode between grams and ounces. Features include automatic zero, automatic shut-off, and low battery indicator. The scale tray is safe for the top rack of a dishwasher, but should not be used in a microwave. For best results, clean the scale immediately after contact with fats and strongly colored spices and foods, and avoid contact with citrus and other acidic foods.
