I really love this scale. At first, I thought that it wouldn't be the best scale because of the low price. However, I have been pleasantly surprised. The scale is quite accurate. Also, it's easy to calibrate even if you are not using the container that was made for weighing items. Equally important, it stores very easily. It's so good, that I now wished that I had purchased at least 2 . . .one for work and one for home. :-)Customer Review: Lightweight and Accurate

This is a great little powerhouse. I'm especially pleased that this scale comes with its own little storage container, which I've also used as my "bowl." This scale measures both in grams and ounces, which I use in my food plan. Like my old Weight Watchers scale, I can simply turn the knob to weigh my food with or without the container, to get accurate results. Lightweight and easy to use. Inexpensive yet surprisingly accurate for weighing those items under a pound (like brewing hops!). Take in mind it's plastic, and not real fancy, but it does the job. It has a lid and can also be used as a storage container, which is a plus. This was a replacement for a similar 17 oz Progressive brand scale which was also pretty accurate, but fell out of wack after a few months of use. This food scale worked perfectly for me! I have been trying to lose weight by controlling my portions and this was exactly what I needed. The scale measures in both grams and ounces, and the best part is that it is so light-weight (yet durable), and it comes in a compact storage tuperware container that also doubles as a food container. When shopping for a kitchen scale, I was so frustrated that most scales were electronic. A simply mechanism like a scale does not need to be electric! This scale absolutely fit the bill, and the best part is you can take it apart and store the scale in the small white bucket. A pound is the perfect upper limit if you're using it to weigh flour, chocolate, butter, etc. for cookies, cakes, brownies.
