This appears to be a knock-off of the classic twisted square wire grater. Why a knock-off? Because the one you want is made from stainless steel, not from chrome plated wire. Eventually the chrome will wear and chip, and then the wire will rust. I don't want that in my food, do you? Get the real one, made by Kuchenprofi, about twice the price, and it will last for several lifetimes. If Amazon is out of them, you can Google them up. The tool is actually called a "kartoffel-reibe maBe" and measures 32cm x 13cm.

This tool is absolutely necessary for making proper potato pancakes, and excels at carrot salad too. Get the good one.
