Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Rowenta DA-35 Latitude 35 Compact Iron with Dual Voltage for Travel

Customer Review: Great little thing
Summary: 5 Stars

I have this iron and a mini iron board in my bedroom and it is great when I have to iron one or two garments in the morning before work. I will only pull out my big and heavy iron and board when doing mass-ironing - which means hardly ever.
The quality is good, it irons well, and it is small enough for travels.

Customer Review: Great Travel Iron!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I originally borrowed this iron from a friend. The iron worked so well, I bought one for myself. The iron is very compact, heats up quickly and has multiple settings. This was a great buy!

Customer Review: Good travel iron, not so much for regular use
Summary: 2 Stars

We bought this almost six months ago and found it to be a nice compact and light travel iron that could be easily used with just a electrical plug adapter while in Europe. We were in Europe for an extended stay and had to use it regularly. There was occasional leakage problems, but that was probably due to the fact that my wife used distilled water exclusively, as the owner's manual directed one to use regular tap water. The main problem is the electrical cord. When packed into it's carrying case, it is a bit too tight and thus damaged the cord near to where it connects to the iron. The protecting "collar" on the cord wasn't long enough to protect it. If we knew this beforehand, we would've been more careful and could've fashioned a "collar" of our own. Now it is not heating up. I'm trying to replace the cord myself, but it doesn't look like it will be possible to put it back together so that it can function well. It is a shame as it was functioning rather well.

Customer Review: Good iron--Not good for upright steaming
Summary: 3 Stars

I purchased this travel iron to take on my daughter's wedding cruise last week. The main reason I ordered it was because it had good reviews for the upright steaming feature. However, I have never been able to get it to steam while in the upright position. I have followed the directions and even called customer service. They advised that sometimes the iron gets air bubbles in it and you have to push the steam button about 50 to 60 times to work them out. I tried this procedure on several occasions--to no avail. Consequently, it didn't help me much when I needed to steam my wrinkled garments while on our cruise. I would not recommend this as a steamer, but it does work well as a travel iron.

Customer Review: good for travel
Summary: 4 Stars

this one does what it is supposed to do.

its features:
Burst of Steam,
Vertical Steam,
Constant Steam (Steam can only be produced when the thermostat is in the colored cotton/linen zone.)
Full Range Thermostat,
Folding Handle,
Transparent Water Tank: holds 2.05 oz., makes filling at the tap easy
Travel Pouch,
dual voltage, (you need to use a coin to change it. don't forget it when you travel abroad!)
weight: 1 lbs. 12 oz.

I saw cheaper ones in a local store. but I'm not sure about the quality of that one.
