I bought this item for my father for Christmas 2008. We used it the same day to peel about 30 potatoes for dinner. This product reduced the time and effort of peeling the potatoes of many different shapes and sizes to around 30 minutes. After we were finished we were very quickly able to clean it and get rid of the peels.
I would recommend this product to anyone. I'm not sure on the life of the product, but I will hope to update before Christmas 2009.

Would not want to live without this! It is nice to have for potatoes but is a must have for pears! I canned 9 bushels of pears last year and the rotato makes easy work of peeling! I have used it for canning pears for about 6 years now and it makes it so much easier! The older ones were a little more durable than the newer ones and the blades last a long time (couple years) and my rotato gets heavy use! Would highly recommend this product!!!!Customer Review: Had to replace my oringinal 14 yr. old one !!!!!

I bought one the first year they came out. My arm that the blades went on finally wore down , so that new blades wouldn't fit. So I had to get a new one , since I couldn't live without one! Hard to believe but the new design is even improved to be better. The weighted base is better & the black color is nice , too. The blabe on it when it comes is a dummy one , so be infomed to put on a new one. P.S. The new blades are in the under base.Customer Review: If you're even considering buying it...

Go for it! This is one of the handiest gadgets we've ever bought. It works perfectly, and you won't believe how quickly you can get a bag of taters peeled for dinner. I'd suggest ordering extra blades "just in case." It does come with four extras in the base which I did not notice mentioned in the description here, but I wanted the extras on-hand because I know we'll be using this for a long time to come.Customer Review: Great gadget!

My mother has a touch of arthritis in her hands and peeling potatoes was a a bit of a chore for her. My sister bought this device for her several years ago and it's worked very well. You still have to manually peel a small portion of the top and bottom of the potato, but the Rotato has made the potato peeling job quicker and easier for her.
