As a basting spoon, the Rosle is unmatched. However, I find that you can use it to stir things too. Liquids especially. Highly recommended for stirring as well as basting.

This basting spoon is great for basting food in the oven and ladling from flat containers and pans. The long handle protects hands from heat. Like all Rosle Tools, this one is made by a team of engineers and artisans who combine the best of both worlds spending days, months or sometimes years developing and designing each of their tools to exacting standards and specifications..One of Rösle's superb kitchen utensils, this 12.4-inch spoon has a cupped, solid head for basting meat and poultry and for serving food. Like all Rösle utensils, tools, and Open Kitchen storage components, the spoon is made of 18/10 stainless steel for rustproof beauty and long-lasting durability. The spoon is hygienically seamless, with a mirror-finish head and a satin-finish handle that conceals finger marks. A subtle center groove and rounded edges ensure a secure, comfortable grip.
