Customer Review: World's Greatest Potato Peeler

This is the third Rösle Crosswise Swivel Peeler that I have purchased. After buying my initial one, for my own use and over the objections of my wife who thought $25 was too much for a mere potato peeler, I have since bought one for my daughter and one for a daughter-in-law. It seems that not only did my wife come around once we got the peeler, but the other women in my family developed peeler envy. Anyway, what you need to know about this kitchen gadet is that it works GREAT. No more peeling away much of the potato, no more wrestling with flimsy plastic peelers, no more worrying about cutting off a finger with a kitchen knife.
The Rösle is a quality gadget that gets the job done cleanly and quickly with minimal waste. It has some heft and fits easily in the hand. It makes peeling potatoes--or lots of other veggies--downright fun. Even my granddaughter quickly and flawlessly removed the peeling from Thanksgiving dinner potatoes.
OK, I know, I know, it's JUST A POTATO PEELER, but trust me when I tell you this is a special one that's well worth the price. And like I said, it can be used to peel lots of veggies other than potatoes, though its potato-focus is made clear by a little tab on the peeler that is useful for removing the eyes found in potatoes.
This is, I'm sure, the world's greatest potato peeler. If it's not, there must be one out there that peels all by itself.

Peeling has never been easier. With this stainless steel 6.7-in. swivel peeler, fruit and vegetables with thin or semi-thin skin can be quickly and easily peeled with the firmly-anchored swivel blade. Potato eyes and damaged parts of the vegetable can be easily rooted out with the point of the tool, which is sharpened on both sides. The peeler also cuts fine decorative strips perfect for garnishes, salads and Wok dishes. Use it on long, thin vegetables such as carrots, courgettes, radishes, cucumbers and turnips..One of Rösle's superb kitchen tools, this 7-1/2-inch peeler has a 1-1/2-inch-wide blade for easily peeling long vegetables such as carrots, cucumbers, and zucchini. On its side is a point sharpened on both ends to remove potato eyes and other blemishes. Like all Rösle tools, utensils, and Open Kitchen storage components, this peeler is made of 18/10 stainless steel for rustproof beauty and long-lasting durability. The round handle has a satin finish to conceal finger marks.
