Customer Review: Useless Customer Service in India

I'm incredibly disappointed with Ronco's customer service. I spent a bunch of money to have the oven sent next-day hoping to use it tonight to make dinner. Unfortunately I opened the box to find the heat reflector was missing. I called customer service thinking they'd send it out asap. Nope. First of all, customer service has been outsourced to India, and I was on hold waiting to speak to someone for 10 mins. And second, the guy didn't understand what I was saying. Finally, when he figured out that I was trying to tell him the heat reflector was missing, the very unapologetic man told me I had to register the thing online and then fax my request for the missing part, along with a copy of my receipt, to somewhere in California. I told him it was ridiculous, and he told me that was company policy. I think Ronco should refund my next-day shipping fees, and send the missing part out using next-day service as well. Apparently it's impossible to speak with any sort of competent customer service rep in the States. All I can do is fax or leave a message. I wish I would've known Ronco's customer service was this unprofessional before I bought the oven.Customer Review: Great cooker, longevity could be better

Ronco ST3001WHGEN Showtime Compact Rotisserie and Barbeque Oven, White
We're on our third Ronco compact rotisserie. The first one lasted about three years, the second one four and a half years. Both times, it was something electric that went. We're heavy users, usually two or three times a week, sometimes more.
It's great for: whole chicken, pork roast, salmon, whole trout, leg of lamb, sausages.
Not so great for thin flat pieces: pork chops, fish filets.
Cannot comment on steaks or burgers.
The cooking times in the instructions should be treated as approximate; they tend toward undercooking. Learn from your own experience.
The unit gets very hot when in use, keep it away from draperies and other flammable objects. The glass and the handles are fine, however. Ours sits on a cart with wheels that I pull away from the wall before using the unit.
It's by far the smallest rotisserie on the market, at least as represented in Amazon. Big enough for two to four people.
One star off for limited longevity.

Yes, the quality of this product did not live up to my expectations. However, I will admit that it does the job. I have cooked a whole chicken, cornish hens, and chicken wings in this machine. All have come out wonderful, in particular the chicken wings. In fact, I would say that I created the best tasting wings ever using this machine.
Clean up was relatively easy when cooking cornish hens and a whole chicken, but more difficult with wings (because they are the fattiest part of the chicken, they tend to splatter). Another drawback would be the elastic food ties, which effect the taste of the chicken. Washing the ties with cold water seems to help a bit. My last disappointment with this machine is that no flavor injector was included. This is a pretty bare bones model, but thankfully I got it at a low price.
It's worth paying a little more for a higher quality machine.

I am very pleased with this product. I'm truly enjoying the benefits of my Rotisserie. The only problem I had with this item was being mislead by the size or weight of two chickens that could fit on the Rotesserie. But, we worked it out by learning how to make it fit. Although, it's to small for two 4lb. chicks, we make it fit by bending the legs and making sure it doesn't touch the back of the oven. The video was especially helpful and full of ideas for cooking. My son uses it for everything; turkey legs, roast, and chicken breast. It's an addition to my weight-loss program. I am very pleased with this product, it has added so much pleasure to food quality and health benefits. As usual, Amazon came through with a great product.

This makes the juiciest chicken I've ever tasted. Racking the chicken onto the spit is as easy as it looks on TV. The same goes for removing it when done. Clean up is a snap. There's plenty of room for a plump chicken or a couple of Cornish hens. I haven't tried a turkey yet, but I roasted veggies in the spinning basket. Delicious!
I love the pause feature that allows me to stop the spit from turning so that I can add crispiness to any part of the bird. The pan in the bottom collects the juices. I make soup with it later.
It comes with everything too - gloves, video, chicken ties, basket with lid.
This is one of those purchases that makes me want to tell everybody what a great deal I got. I'd give this product ten stars if I could.
