This is the greatest thing ever made!! I purchased a Jennie-O fresh, 14.5 lb, pre-basted turkey for Thanksgiving. I washed it, stuffed it and buttered it up then I dropped it in the roaster and said a prayer!! (Please let this turkey be perfect, Amen.) According to the roasting directions I did not add any additional liquid...I set the temp to whatever was recommended in the manual for fresh turkeys (about 350-ish) and the timer for 3.5 hours and after 2 1/2 hours I lifted the lid to take a peek and it was the most beautiful golden brown turkey I had ever seen! I put the lid back on and let it cook another hour and it was done as promised! The turkey was golden brown with crispy skin and sooooo moist! It was my best turkey ever! It was so nice to have the kitchen oven open for side dishes! Everything was timed perfectly! All of my guests have the Rival roaster on their Christmas lists!!!! My sister has a Rival Roaster and she has made hams and roast in hers and she raves about them! My Mom has cooked scrambled eggs in hers at church breakfasts! I love it! I highly recommend the Rival 22qt roaster! I don't know how I ever survived a holiday without it in the past! It was so easy! (**remember to put the oven out in the garage or on your back porch and turn it on 350 or so and let it run for about 2 hours before your first use! It definitely has an odor and you need to do this before you bring it inside and cook in it for the first time!) (Oh and the sides of this oven get really hot so be sure to keep it from touching anything around it and watch little fingers!) Happy Roasting!!!
