I just got this item on Aug 10-07 and have used it about 4 times already. The cord is completely removable which makes it very practical/easy to clean up. Thus far I've made cheese & chocolate fondue and it's worked perfectly! The cord is REALLY short but as long as you get an extension cord it's ok.
Would definitely recommend this item!

I have had a good many fondue pots over the years and think this is really pretty good. I think it gets quite hot. We mostly do oil oriented fondues, meat, shrimp, chicken and this really sizzles. I have never had a problem with not enough heat. I do not care for the cord however.It does come off rather easily and I find that annoying.Customer Review: Excellent purchase

Got fondue pot Friday for my birthday and all we ate was fondue all weekend. Heated chocolate quickly and kept it just right and same with cheeses. We also used it to cook meet in oil and it worked great. I am looking forward to some broth for the meat this weekend and more cheese and chocolate. Most fun Ive ever had eating.Customer Review: Cami

If you love fondue this is the fondue maker for you! We had planned on buying a different maker, but we are thankful we changed our mind. This one is great! It heats up very quickly and is a cinch to clean up, even after chocolate fondue! We love to use this pot. We've made cheese, meat, broth, chocolate fondues in this pot without any problems several times. It heats up quickly, cleans up easily. A good feature is that the electrical connection (magnetically connected) will snap off very easily if it is bumped into and the pot doesn't move at all.
