Customer Review: Great roaster oven

This is a great roaster oven. It worked great for my turkey (just over 20lbs), with room to spare. Notwithstanding that, however, 22 quarts wasn't quite as big as I was hoping. The largest pan I can get inside of it (length and width-wise) is a 9x13 pan. It might do 10 or 11 by 13, but that's about the extent of it. So, if you have a round pan, don't expect to fit more than a ten inch. I wish there was a timer on this so it would automatically turn off after a certain amount of time.
Anyway, it's still a great oven, though. It cooks well and gets quite hot.
Oh, there is one thing, though. The lid is made out of some kind of unidentified metal. It might be an aluminum alloy (it is magnetic--so that's why I don't think it's pure aluminum; it might be stainless steel, though, but not of the expensive variety, if so). I'm trying to avoid aluminum--so I want to get some kind of enamel paint suitable for cooking to paint over the underside of the lid. In the meantime, I just use a pan with a lid inside and oil the underside of the lid to minimize any metal leeching from it. Plus, oiling it prevents the water from staining it.
