This is a very attractive and functional electric fondue pot. One of the real delights in using it is that you can prepare the fondue directly in the fondue pot--you don't have two pots to clean up like when you use the old Sterno heated ones. This fondue set is great! We have used it for cheese and also cooked meats and vegetables in a broth. It gets hot enough to keep the broth at a boil, but can also be turned down low for cheese and chocolates. I also like the fact that it is electric. I purchased this fondue pot for my daughter's 9th birthday. She doesn't like cake, so we melted chocolate, and let the kids choose what they wanted to dip. I was a little worried that it might burn the chocolate, but it worked perfectly on the "warm" setting. Highly recommend!
