I just received this fondue pot a few days ago and I couldn't wait to try it! I had fond memories of my mother serving fondue when I was a child and I have to say, it is just as fun now as when I was 10 years old! Just last night, my boyfriend and I had a nice romantic evening enjoying a fondue meal. I can't remember having such a fun time during dinner!The pot and forks are of excellent quality and everything is surprisingly easy to clean, which is important if you want to totally enjoy the experience. The pot is an excellent design -- I was impressed by the sturdiness of the legs especially.
If you want to entertain others or just yourself, get this fondue pot! You won't regret it. Fondue is easy and fun!

Fondue is the single best way to get your children to try different vegetables. Who am I kidding? It's the best way to get everyone to eat more veggies, as the various sauces are delicious and easy to prepare with this Fondue Pot. I love the fact that it's electric and has the magnetic break-away cord. The *only* problem I have with it is that the cord is a bit too short. I have to use an extension cord in order for my family to enjoy it at the dinner table. But that's a small, fixable problem, so I still give it 5 stars. :o) We use it 2-3 times a week, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy it for someone as a gift.Customer Review: Great Family Fun

I have two children of my own and we have done fondue in the past, however, when I married a man with 3 children, our fondue pot wasn't large enough to accomodate all of us. When I saw this one, I had to try it. All 7 of us can have an entire fondued meal and have a lot of fun doing it. It's a great way to slow dinner down and spend some quality time with the family. The oil or chocolate stays the right temperature and the magnetic release cord makes me feel so much more at ease, because I know if one of the kids trips on the cord the pot isn't going to turn over. After a few uses, this fondue pot provides everything needed:
1) It is easy to clean
2) The stainless steel bowl does not easily scratch
3) Because it is stainless steel, no worries about non-stick coating giving off (happened to our previous fondue pot after a few years without scratches)
4) Heating is fast and even
5) Temperature setting, so no need to use a separate thermometer
The fondue pot came with 8 forks, a plastic lid to use with the farks and the standard magnetic wire to prevent it from flipping over.

I've had it many years. instead of chocolate and cheese, we actually use it for Chinese hot pot. It has worked perfectly for us. The best thing about it is the electric with temperature control. It heats up quickly, which is important for a Chinese hot pot as sliced meat is often still frozen when dipped in. Quickly cooked meat in a hot pot simply tastes better. I don't quite understand why the chord is made extremely short, probably more of a safety feature to prevent tangling. Anyway, it is not a big issue. I plan to get a second set to serve with non spicy broth.
