Customer Review: Worst customer service ever

I bought a rival stainless steel crockpot very similar to this one only to be told a few months later that the manufacturer was recalling it. Seems the handles could fall off. So I followed the recall instructions and returned my expesive stainless steel model. 30 days later I received my replacement model only to discover that it was not the stainless steel model I returned but a much cheaper white plastic one. I immediately called customer service and after being on hold for ages was told that even though my stainless steel one was recalled the one they were replacing it with was the cheaper on I had received. I, of course, was furious and told them that I had paid more for the model I had purchased and wanted it replaced with the same model since this was afterall due to a manufacturing recall not any action on my part. I was told that they would be willing to sell me the same model for 30% off or I could produce a reciept for a refund. Now mind you this a recall for crockpots that were sold several months ago and how many of us keep receipts for small household items we have been using for the last year? So basically they cheated me out of my nice model and refused to do anything about it. I would beware of buying anything from this company.

Cook for the whole Family with Rival's 6.5 Quart Oval Chrome CrockPot/Slow CookerThis handsome brushed-chrome slow cooker is similar to Rival's 6445-BC 6-1/2-quart model. Added to this model for extra convenience is a warm setting for keeping a meal at just the right serving temperature. Oval in shape and holding a generous 6-1/2 quarts, the cooker suits a large family or a couple who likes to entertain. The heavy stoneware crock lifts out of the heating base for easy cleaning thanks to a stick-resistant coating, and is attractive enough to serve from right at the table. While the crock is safe for use in the microwave and dishwasher, it is not intended for use on a stovetop or under a broiler.
With two cook settings, low and high, the pot can slow cook a wide variety of stews, roasts, and soups, recipes for which are included in the owner's guide. The glass lid, also dishwasher-safe, sends moisture back into the pot while at the same time allows contents to be viewed. The loop-style lid knob and improved sure-grip handles are heat resistant. Measuring 17 by 8 by 12 inches with a 40-inch power cord, the slow cooker is covered by a one-year warranty. --Ann Bieri
