Have several different glasses from this collection. Great style, easy to maintain (no dishwasher for these) and are more sturdy than they look. (The two pak set was the better price at the time of purchase and that made shipping easier too as it reduced chance of breakage.

A perfect addition to your Riedel collection, these Riedel Vinum Extreme Sauvignon Blanc glasses are designed specifically for medium-bodied white wines such as white Bordeaux, Hermitage Blanc, Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon-Semillon, and Viognier. The Extreme line, most known for their larger, more dramatic diamond shaped bowls, provide an even larger surface area, exposing the wine to more oxygen and allowing it to fully open up, resulting in heightened performance, and further enhanced drinking experience for those using them. The Riedel Vinum Extreme collection was designed in response to the continued improvement in the quality of wines being produced today. As wines have become more dense, concentrated and perfected, so has the call for new glass shapes. The Extreme line is machine-made of 24% lead crystal.

Renowned European glassmaker Riedel designs the shape of each glass to most fully enhance the appreciation of the wine within. To meet the demand of today's increasingly more concentrated wines, Riedel developed the Vinum Extreme line, which features a pronounced diamond shaped bowl. Slender and graceful, the two Vinum Extreme glasses in this set are designed especially to give capture the aromas of whites such as Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Pinot Blanc, and Riesling. At the same time, the modern diamond shape looks distinctly snazzier than typical wine stems.

Though Vinum Extreme glasses are machine-made to be affordable, the glasses nonetheless consist of 24 percent lead crystal for distinctive clarity and brilliance. Each Sauvignon Blanc glass stands 9-1/2 inches tall and holds 16-1/4 ounces at full capacity, and as part of a set makes a handsome wedding gift or augments an existing collection.
