Customer Review: Good value, a little chintsy in some ways.

Amazon shipped incredibly fast as always, got here 2 days early. The lamps are exactly as pictured, and are a great value. The construction is a little chintsy in some ways, they're sturdy enough and not wobbly, but there's some nasty flaky gunk on the bottoms of them, and the threads to screw the pole sections together take a little convincing to fit together evenly. The cord is shorter than I had imagined too, without measuring i'd say maybe 5 feet from the outside of the base to the plug. All in all, a good buy.
NOTE: The lamp says use a maximum of 60 watt bulbs. I armed them with 3 of the energy saving flourescents each that supposedly put out the same amount of light as a 60 watt incandescent, and they were like staring into the sun. Not the lamp's fault, but just a heads up. 25 or 40 watt energy saving would be just fine for 99% of rooms.

This lamp is so chic! I love this lamp. This floor lamp will bring a modern flair to any room & it does wonder with our bedroom. So if you like the look of modern or want to add a special hint of whimsy...go with this lamp. It is well made and lights up a room. So why do I love it regardless?? Well...the Monday before my wedding as I was putting it together, I lost my grip on the stem while twisting it & BAM! The stem hit my nose my fault not the lamp's. Well my bump was tragic but gone by Friday..so in a way..this lamp is sentimental...but it is lovely and should be yours if you like this style.Customer Review: Fabulous lamp for the price!

This floor lamp was much better than expected.....the base and stand are very stable and the paper shade is very nice. Hence, I am very pleased with the product for the very low price. The lighting is fantastic at night if you like a very relaxed, soothing light. It would be nice if there were multiple intensities to the lighting adjustment, but hey, I am not complaining. I love the way my living room looks with this nice floor lantern and it adds the ambience and style I was looking for in my contemporary style room. This lamp gives a warm soft light to a dim room and adds a nice contemporary look. The only downfall is that when you pull the lamp shade down in order to hook it onto the stand, the shade will tear on the bottom of the shade, so you have to be very careful when pulling on the bottom of the lamp shade. Also, when assembling the stand, you have to push the cord into the rod of the stand, which is a tedious, time-consuming project, because they give you much more cord than you need. I like the foot button on the floor to turn the lamp on and off. Would buy this product again.Customer Review: well worth the money

Positives: nearly 360 degree shade coverage lets out 180 watts (3 X 60) of softened lighting (much better than the frosted arc lamp found at a different retailer) which looks very nice aesthetically, but delivers very sharp, direct light. Easy to assemble, foot switch.
Negatives: only one intensity level, but light is versatile since it is very bright but not abrasive. Paper shade is flimsy, what happens when it tears? I guess you just get another lamp. Very nice lamp, highly recommended.
