Customer Review: Issues at first, but now completely pleased

Update: I am still using and loving this product. I would never discourage somebody to buy a refurbished product. It's well worth it.
The Breville 600xl is a fine machine, if you get one that works! We received a machine that did not brew, but luckily we bought through Amazon; They made the return very simple and we had a new machine within a couple of days of filing a return.
Pros about buying the refurbished unit:
*It is a little over 50% off of the original price, which if you do your homework is not the original price listed.
*It is the sleekest single-cup brewer
*It has an available my k-cup you can buy if you want to brew a coffee not available in k-cup form.
*You can also buy a water filter, for those that don't trust the tap water
*The blue lights make it look more modern
*The coffee is darn good
*The brewing is actually not very loud compared to other brands
*Breville customer service was very informative and helpful, I was only on hold 5 minutes before I spoke to somebody about a brewing issue.
*The machine runs without the accessories not included. Don't let it deter you.
Cons:
*The machine's water compartment needs to be put and pressed down with a little force to avoid a "open head" "ready to brew" nightmare.
*It does not come with water filter or K-cup. I would buy these on Amazon, you only need the Keurig filter kit and my k-cup, I think any scoop you have from your current coffee maker will suffice. You won't spend as much as some people are saying. Maybe $35. at most, again they are not necessary.
*Not made fully of stainless steel
*Newer version has a iced drink option.
All in all I am very satisfied with this machine, I will recommended it to others. I would buy from Amazon, they are very good about exchanges.

The Breville single-cup brewer takes a different tack. It makes coffee one cup at a time, so each cup tastes as fresh as the first one in the pot. Each cup is also 100-percent customized--by brew temperature, by grind, by varietal, even by cup size--so it's perfect for households or dinner parties in which everyone likes a different brew. Best of all, the brewing process is very, very difficult to mess up. The Breville's patented "showerhead" sprays a precisely calibrated amount of water through a "K-Cup," a technology made famous by Keurig's single-cup brewers, using temperature and pressure designed to extract the maximum amount of flavor from the grounds. More than 150 pre-packed K-Cups are available for beverages ranging from hot chocolate to organic dark-roast Columbian, produced by roasters from Tully's to Green Mountain Coffee.
Like all of this company's handsomely designed kitchen equipment, the Breville single-cup coffee brewer is aesthetically gorgeous and feels solidly constructed. It's made from heavy-duty stainless steel with a die-cast safety locking arm, and comes with an internal water filter system to remove impurities that can impart off flavors and smells. A backlit reservoir holds 60 ounces of water and can brew up to 10 cups before it needs refilling; the programmable LCD screen has a refreshingly easy-to-use interface.
