Customer Review: Good for tying up the steak rolls in brasciole

I bought this twine in order to cook the Italian dish "brasciole" that was the topic of an episode of the TV show "Everybody Loves Raymond". In this episode Debra--usually an uninspired cook at best--finds a recipe for brasciole in a magazine and ends up with a dish that Frank deems superior to Marie's best efforts! This story inspired me to try this dish myself, which involved rolling slices of thin round steak around a stuffing of cheese seasoned with a bit of garlic, which were then poached in tomato sauce. Each steak roll (or brisciole) was secured by a piece of this twine.
I have a few words of advice to those who want to cook this kind of dish. You only need to cut a piece of twine that is long enough to tie only once. You do not need to use a double knot like the square knot! Just one tying is enough. The twine tied around the steak roll provides enough friction to keep it in place. Then after cooking the point of a short knife can be used to nudge each simple single looped knot apart. A really secure knot is impossible to untie and requires cutting the twine--which is an act that is rather difficult to perform!
I should also say that Debra's advice to use currants instead of raisins as part of the stuffing for the brasciole is well worth taking. Because raisins are so much larger than currants they rather overwhelm the other flavors when you bite into one. Currants are sufficiently small that you do not notice biting into them within the context of the texture of the tomato sauce. Instead the currants merely impart the sweetness that Frank alludes to in the TV episode.
For the steak in this disk I just used the kind of thin round steak that you buy to make Philly cheese steak. For a somewhat lighter dish I find that instead of steak you can also use the thin slices of chicken breast that most grocery stores sell these days.
