This has an attractive design and I like the fact that the drippings collect in the bottom of the dish away from the chicken itself. The problems I had were because of it's size. When the bird was placed upright on the dish it was heavy, clumsy to handle, and is so tall it was difficult fit in my regular sized oven.

The Romertopf Chicken Roaster is ideal for healthy cooking as the fat from the chicken drains down into the bottom of the roaster! The fat can then be drained for gravy or discarded. Add vegetables in the roaster and you have a complete meal, ready to be served right from the oven. The chicken roaster is easily cleaned with soap and water or can be put into the dishwasher.For perfectly roasted, tender chicken, Reco International Romertopf offers this chicken roaster. The 12-inch roaster is designed to cook a chicken up to 8 pounds in weight. Crafted in stoneware, the chicken roaster's construction retains heat, enabling it to continue cooking from the inside out. A conical center vertically hoists the chicken to allow the fat and juices to run off and collect in the roaster's basin, for disposal or making gravy. For pouring, a spout is molded along the rim. The basin also provides ample room for roasting potatoes, carrots, and assorted stuffing. To transport chicken to and fro, the roaster is molded with two tab-style handles on the sides.
