Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Rachael Ray Hard Anodized Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set, OrangeCustomer Review: Great set! Summary: 4 Stars
I wanted to wait a while to post a review so I could be more accurate after using the set for a few months. Firstly, when my set arrived, one of the lids did not fit. It was warped, but I was able to go to Kohls and exchange it without having to go through the drama of exchanging through Amazon.
Secondly, the set is amazing. It's so easy to clean. It's true that sometimes food kind of gets stuck around the hardware inside, but for me it's been super easy if I just let the water run over it a little and I use my finger nail around the screws. The outside of the set does get stained with food if you get food on there. My set looks like it's about 3 years old right now but I do not mind it. I like that it looks like I actually use it as opposed to looking like I don't cook. LOL!
Thirdly, I did know that you could not use cooking sprays but they do stick a little when cooking eggs, so I did start using sprays and I have used them on high heat. To elaborate on the sprays. The sprays would create a film that I was able to remove by creating a baking soda/water paste and just rubbing it on the pan for about 3 minutes. It was good as new. I realized that the high heat made the food stick more, so I started using medium/high. That works fine and doesnt seem to be causing any further problems. I switched to grapeseed oil spray which is actually just straight oil and it seems to work a lot better than regular cooking spray. I'm looking into getting an oil sprayer from Bed Bath and Beyond so it'll be pure oil and cheaper than buying the oil spray.
Also, I think it's fine to use high heat for boiling water as nothing will stick to the pan and since I have a gas stove, the water boils VERY quickly with these pans.
Fourthly, the handles are amazing. We actually purchased an Emerilware set before this and realized that the handles were metal and ok, I have two toddlers, so the last thing I need when I'm cooking is to have to hold the lid with a glove as well as hold the pot with a glove in order to not burn myself. I don't have time for that, so the silicone handles are great! We returned the Emeril set and bought this one the same week.
Overall I've had my set for about 8 months and it works great. Cooking and clean-up are a snap and I'm very pleased with my set. My mom is now going to purchase one for herself.
Description of Rachael Ray Hard Anodized Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set, OrangeThis cookware set is an exceptional value, including all of the pans needed to equip your kitchen with the most used cooking pieces. As the set contains only basic pieces, you'll really use each and every pan. It includes saucepans for whisking a homemade sauce or cooking your morning oatmeal, a big stockpot for soups, stews or boiling pasta, and skillets (probably the most used pan in any kitchen) that will help you turn out perfect pancakes or a tasty tuna melt. Like her dynamic cutlery, Rachael Ray cookware first enchants the eye before you even realize how well you can cook with it. The handsome charcoal-gray, hard-anodized pots and pans feature shiny stainless-steel handles wrapped with neon-orange silicone grips that practically glow with the kinetic energy of this celebrity chef. It'll come as no surprise that orange is Ray's favorite color. A smile is practically guaranteed each time you pull one of these pans out of the cupboard or see them hanging by your stove. As for cooking, hard-anodized aluminum heats quickly and evenly, resists scratching, and is incredibly durable. The interior nonstick finish allows food to slide right off. You're good to go with this 10-piece set of commonly-used cookware. Included are 1-1/2- and 3-quart covered saucepans; 8- and 10-inch open French skillets; a 6-quart covered stockpot for big batches of pasta and chili; and a 3-quart/10-inch covered sauté pan. The glass lids let you monitor cooking without losing steam or nutrients, and feature stainless-steel rims and handle with those same neon-orange silicone grips. Every piece is oven-safe to 400 degrees F, so you can start a dish on the stovetop and finish it with a hot bake-through. For the best care, washing the nonstick cookware by hand is recommended. An excellent gift, the set is covered by a lifetime limited warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri What's in the Box 10-piece cookware set.
