I had a plastic strainer similar to this that cracked in half one day. I am very happy with this stainless steel version as a replacement. It is definitely not going to crack in half and feels a lot more sturdy when using. The only problem I have had is that some pasta spills out if I am trying to drain more than 2 cups or so of pasta. This strainer is not very wide. However it is still a great product overall and I just have to be careful if straining a larger quantity of pasta, or switch to a colander for that purpose.
Description of RSVP Endurance® Crescent Pot Strainer
For straining liquids from your stock pot, this Crescent-Shaped Strainer makes the task that much easier. Just place the strainer over the edge of the pot and drain the liquid without discarding any of the vegetables or pasta.
