This Queen's Blue Calico 7.5 ounce teacup features a beautiful, classic blue and white flowery chintz design dating back to the mid 1900s. Chintz patterns were inspired by the dresses worn by decorating girls in the Staffordshire pottery firms.Based upon 19th century textile designs, the Queen's China blue calico pattern first gained notoriety in the 1920s. Bold colors and a repetitive floral motif characterize the cheerful pattern. Adorning the deep blue background, an array of blue and white flowers and intricate vines wind their way, covering the entire teacup.
Measuring 4-1/4 by 3-1/4 by 3 inches, this teacup holds 7-1/2 ounces of liquid. A gentle curve in the bowl and handle adds a sense of elegance to the classic design. Crafted from fine English earthenware, the teacup is durable enough for everyday use and can be placed in the microwave and dishwasher.
