From batter to salads, this set has you covered. Exceptional value in a set of Pyrex bowls with lids that means they do double duty as mixing bowls and storage containers. I bought this set because I needed a large glass salad bowl with a cover, and feel almost like I got the bonus of three additional covered mixing bowls. The smaller two bowls are great for small mixes, scrambled eggs, reheats and storage, and the larger 2 bowls are great for mixing and salads. I love that I now have a way to store salads that doesn't involve plastic wrap or foil. Made in USA. Microwave safe. Freezer safe. Dishwasher safe. I received this set for Christmas 2007. I have used them and enjoyed them for 8 months. Yesterday, I heated some soup in the microwave in the smallest bowl. Let it cool and ate some of it. About 10 minutes later I put the lid on the bowl and put it in the refrigerator. The soup and bowl were room temperature. The next morning when we opened the refrigerator, the bowl was in pieces and the soup was all over the shelf. There were no cracks in the bowl before I used it. I have now read hundreds of other people's experiences with the same issue. I will be taking this product back to the store. IT IS UNSAFE. I love these bowls. I had similar sizes in the plastic set I bought elsewhere and I'll never go back to the plastic ones since I have these glass ones. Makes me nervous because their glass but I'm just more cautious w/ these than i was w/ the plastic ones. I loves the sizes and all the colorful lids. The lids fit great even after washing them. I was afraid the lids would shrink up like other plastic lids but these haven't so far. If u buy this set at bed bath & beyond at the same price u only get 3 bowls and this set comes w/ four so your saving $ right there! Very pleased w/ this purchase. I use these bowls for everything. They are very practical, the lids can be
stored inside on each bowl so they save space and you can put hot and cold
items in them. They are easy to wash. You can not stain them. You could
put the worse smelling thing in them and they would not stink like plastics
plastic ones do. The only downfall to them is they need to be a few inches
taller so they don't take up so much room width wise. If they were taller
they could be used for mixing things(cakes, brownies, frosting, etc...) with
out making a mess.

I had to send the original back to Macy's because it was missing the small bowl lid. I was instructed to send the "whole" set back rather than Macys sending me the lid for the smallest bowl.
The second set I received was in a "beat up" mailing box. The contents inside the Pyrex box were VERY dusty and there were mouse droppings in one of the bowls. (VERY gross I must say!!) Not the first time I've had problem with Macy's. All in all the set itself looks nice but the dustyness and mouse droppings makes me wonder if the bowls will every be used.
