Customer Review: Disappointed in Quality Control

Our Pyrex Cup arrived out of the box with a defective handle. The base of the handle had a big crease on the underside right where it meets the cup portion that hurt your finger it stuck up so high and was so rough and obvious. The handle itself was also deformed as though it was taken out of the casting or mold while still soft, thus deforming the handle so that it was slightly bent out to the right. We have requested a replacement which arrives on Monday.
This is the second Pyrex product we have seen this type of problem with. The first one was a 2 cup purchased locally, that always dripped no matter how we poured with it. Upon closer inspection against an identical model we later purchased, we discovered that the spout was not formed correctly, and instead of being straight across like the new one, drooped down which caused it to drip no matter how it was used.
After seeing two instances of a Pyrex product being released to retail with obvious manufacturing defects in the forming of the glass, I am starting to really question if this company really deserves our business. If this replacement cup arrives with a problem, it will be the last Pyrex product I ever purchase.
UPDATE: 12/20/10
The replacement arrived today and although the handle on this one was not deformed as badly, there was still a very noticeable elongated "bump" on the underside of the glass handle where the handle bends down from the cup portion. When holding the cup with 4 cups of water in it, this bump in the glass pushes against your index finger and is VERY uncomfortable. There is no excuse for such an obvious manufacturing defect, so we are returning the replacement for a refund. No point keeping a product that hurts to use and the defect appears to be present on all of these four cup versions from Pyrex. At least the two we had the displeasure of receiving had the exact same defect.
We decided to order this instead:
Anchor Hocking Gift Boxed 3-Piece Open-Handle Measuring Cup Set.
We own other Anchor Hocking glass products and find them to be excellent. These are also made in the USA.
We will not purchase another Pyrex glass product! It is obvious that their quality control has gone down the toilet!
