Well, who doesn't have one? We have this size and a bigger size. This thing is made to last. Thick walled with red letters that are easy to read. Has a spout and a handle for easier pouring. Dishwasher safe and very easy to clean. Will not stain. Of course Pyrex are famous for being heat resistant, although we never really tried putting it directly on top of an open flame, you can be sure it will not shatter if you put boiling hot water in it. Measuring oil in a plastic measuring cup is not a good idea, most of the oil will stick to the sides, not with the Pyrex glass.

The Pyrex 2-cup measuring cup in my kitchen is used daily. Measuring liquids, to boil water in the microwave, to hold dry measures, as a small mixing bowl, etc. The markings are clear and haven't worn off. The 2-cup size is a nice balance; smaller and and easier to handle than the 4-cup, but more useful than the 1-cup size (especially when cooking for more than two). Easy to wash.
This would be an excellent gift for a new kitchen (newly weds, kids moving out, etc). I use it so often I leave mine on the counter rather than storing it.

It's a measuring cup, does it job good. The reason for the review is comparing with the plastic ones, glass ones are far better.
#1 - It's easy to clean. Even if you use it to measure oil, glass cleans a lot better afterwards.
#2 - The glass is very thick, you can call it heavy duty. Bumping it on the counter or against pans, it won't just break.
#3 - The handle holds comfortablly & the cup has a pouring mouth.
A real simple item, but this one gets everything right at the reasonable price. Good buy.

Pyrex Prepware 2-Cup Measuring Cup, Clear with Red Measurements I bought one of these based on manufacturer's name and reputation. I wouldn't do it again. The pouring lip is too narrow and too shallow. You have to pour very slowly to prevent spilling liquids. Anchor Hocking makes one that has better markings, is easier to read, and has a wider and deeper pouring spout. It is also less expensive. My Pyrex measuring cup is now an extra.Customer Review: Love it!

So I've been using those cheap plastic 1 cup & under for measuring things for the last 20 years and boiling water in a pot for years too, since I refuse to microwave water in a "regular" glass (gets to hot) or microwave in plastic! However, I love my new ::: Pyrex 2 cup Measuring cup (safe for micro & dishwasher) :::! I love this item and I use it daily to microwave water for tea, hot chocolate, hot apple cider & for those 2 cups of hot water for jello too! In fact, I'm gonna order a 2nd just in case I get clumsy!
