I bought a dozen of these from another retailer (at half price) and I love them! They are perfect for everything that requires a small size container. I use the cups to beat two eggs, melt butter, heat up baby food (never heat food in any plastic), to serve ketchup or other condiments, store a small amount of leftovers, etc. By using the appropriately sized cup, I save a lot of space in both the fridge and the dishwasher. These bowls are great for baking custard, prepping meals, feeding baby, microwaving butter, the uses are endless. The glass is thick, the bowls are pretty high, and you can safely bake with them.
I bought these bowls for $4.99 at Bed,Bath and beyond. I was going to add another set to an order I placed through Amazon, but I will just get them at one of the ten department stores that sell them for 4.99- 5.99.

I just bought my own set of these after using them in my Mom's kitchen for years; they're very handy for all sorts of little things in the kitchen, and for serving small things (dips, ice cream, whatever). My Mom's had her's for 30 years, I think, and they still work great (a little scratched up, but what do you expect?). My family sometimes only wants a small serving of an item; chili, pasta, soup, ice cream and these custard cups are perfect! They can be microwaved, put into the dishwasher, frozen anything....and they're wonderful for us. I have also used them as prep bowls for my cut and chopped ingredients in preparation of a meal. I have been using Pyrex containers, bowls, cookware for years and they have never let me down. The fact that they are still made in the USA is a plus (hopefully they will continue to be). I love these little bowls, I also have the 10oz ones. I use them for small servings and also when cooking and having to measure several ingredients, herbs, etc, that need to be added individually when cooking a meal.
