Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Pyrex 6022369 Storage 14-Piece Round Set, Clear with Blue LidsCustomer Review: Glass is nice, but leaky lids are a problem! Summary: 3 Stars
We love our Pyrex set because the glass is durable and doesn't absorb food odors or stains from tomato-based products. BUT, if you're looking for containers to transport your lunch to work or to take food to a party, look elsewhere unless you can guarantee that the container won't be jostled or tipped in any way. We were spoiled by our plastic Rubbermaid containers, which were perfectly water-tight, but with these, my lunch bag is a mess by the time I get to work, as the lids simply don't seal well enough. They're great for items that will go from the stove to the fridge for leftovers, but they don't cut it otherwise.
Customer Review: The lids don't fit Summary: 2 Stars
On a $22 dollar set of glass containers the lids should fit. I found this out two weeks after receiving the containers and using several of them. Most of the lids fit, but it's annoying with the larger containers because the lids are too small. This is the downside of buying stuff mail order. How much time am I going to spend packing up and shipping back a $22 container set? I would not buy this item again and will most likely not buy the pyrex brand again. I will think twice about buying kitchenware over the internet. Sometimes it's worth it to pay extra and buy it retail, because it's easy to make returns.
Customer Review: Love - but wish I bought the mixed set (round + rectangular) Summary: 5 Stars
I love this set. the glass is a bit heavier than I would have expected, which i think is a good thing. I have used this set not just for storage, but for prep work. Storing cherries, berries, etc. in a glass container looks lovely.
I have only had the set for a week or so so I cannot yet comment on the lids. Hopefully they will stand up to the test of time.
Only downfall - I wish I had bought the mixed set, the one with rectangular and circular shaped containers. Some items just store better in a rectangle, though it is easier to stir in a circular container.
Customer Review: I am loving these Summary: 5 Stars
I have a family of 5 to cook for, and with three teens I feel like I am always cooking. Now when I make one of the kids a hot lunch, I heat it in this- and if they don't finish everything I can just slap a lid on it, put it in the fridge, and tell them to eat the rest later. I'm saving on dishes, and we aren't throwing perfectly good food out, and I don't have the bother of getting something out to wrap leftovers in. I cook in this, we eat in it, and I can store food in it. I like that it is very robust- since my kids are not always gentle with the dishes. So far we've had no chips (fingers crossed)
Customer Review: Great product Summary: 5 Stars
Love these bowls!
1. They are microwave safe, dishwasher safe and oven safe.
2. I sometimes cook and freeze food over the weekend for the week. I can freeze, heat and serve in these bowls - fewer dishes!
3. The lids are really tight so you don't have to worry about spills if you store liquids.
4. They are very easy to clean and of course don't stain like the plastic containers do.
I also really like the 1 cup bowls (with red lids) which are not part of this set. Walmart sells a pack of 4 for $10. They seem to be a lot more expensive everywhere else.
