I just relocated to another state and needed EVERYTHING for my new kitchen. I have limited cabinet space in my new kitchen, so I think these Pyrex are great, as they serve two functions. The first is food storage, the second, you can cook in them as well! I like the fact that they are glass and there is no worry of contamination from plastic, and you know that they are clean! No pink greasy residue from sauce! I read the other reviews complaints that the lids get loose, so I am careful not to reheat leftovers, with the plastic lid on, in the microwave and I wash the lids in the top rack of the dishwasher. I like that I can reheat leftovers in the oven, as well, due to the fact that these are Pyrex containers. I think this set is well made and superior to regular all plastic food containers. These dishes are extremely small and are only made for carrying leftovers to work for lunch. The size was so disappointing when we opened it - we actually started laughing and immediately said "white elephant gift". Also, the lids are also hard plastic and difficult to get on. I have Pyrex bowls with softer plastic lids from about 6 years about - which I absolutely love - and apparently other people did too because some of them have disappeared over time. We bought these new ones to replace the ones that have vanished and because we wanted something to cook a dish in, cover, and take to dinner parties - these are way too small for that. I'm sure we'll end up using these new ones, but in different way then we intended. Overall, I would definitely hesitate to buy Pyrex again because of the lids.Customer Review: Love, Love, Love!

I cannot say how much I love this set! I have 2 sets of the 10 piece set and 1 of the rectangle-only sets. Here are the reasons why I love my sets of Pyrex and why I recommend them to others:
1. clean up is a snap
2. I've put soup/chili/liquid in them and packed them in my lunch pail with no spillage.
3. it keeps my produce fresher
4. baking in them is wonderful, leftovers go right into the fridge afterward
5. goes right in the dishwasher with no problem
6. similar shapes nest well into each other neat storage
7. lids have a super tight fit
8. it is better to heat up your food in glass, rather than plastic
9. they don't hold on to smells (like onions)
I would not hesitate to purchase these! Get more than 1, and get free shipping:)

Like other reviewers, I too was slightly put off by their smaller size at first, but these sure beat those plastic containers I previously to used to store and reheat leftovers either at home or those taken to the office. They don't melt when reheating in the microwave and everything is visible when sitting in the fridge. I'll confess that I haven't had the lids on when microwaving - I switch to plastic wrap - because I don't want to risk ruining these lids even though they might stand up fine on their own.
I like the way the lids fit snugly, but sometimes have to work at it to get them in place, but considering we seal things to keep air out, they do exactly what they've supposed to do. I got them at a great price on Amazon, so there are certainly no complaints.

We have made the switch from plastic containers to glass because of staining, odors and safety concerns with plastics. This is the second set of Pyrex glass storage containers that I have purchased.
They are wonderful. You can store in them, place in the microwave or the oven. There are only a couple of things that I would change: 1) They get very hot in the oven or microwave and can be difficult to remove and it would help if they had handles on their sides. That is why I rated them 4 stars and not 5 stars. 2) They really need some larger sizes in their sets.
This is a nice set though, I really love the rectangle ones. They are great for storing meats and for cooking mini lasagnas. I recommend highly. Watch for these to go on sale, they do often.
